Welcome to the Cairde Arts Festival’s first group visual art show. We have invited eight artists to participate in this exhibition with up to 3 pieces each. As part of the exhibition, we asked the artists to respond to the theme “An Issue Worth mentioning” with at least one of their pieces. The response has been diverse and strong. Artists have chosen to highlight wide ranging subjects such as climate change, hare coursing, waste and its disposal, mental health issues and more.
An Issue Worth Mentioning features work by Michael Budd, Tina Brooks, Barra Cassidy, Sue Morris, Cormac O’Leary, Tom O’Rourke, Vanya Lambrecht Ward and Heidi Wickham.
Curated by Barra Cassidy and Heidi Wickham.

Numberless DreamsAs part of the Gathering 2013, Hamilton Gallery invited US and Irish
artists living and working in New York to submit works themed around the poetry of W.B
Yeats. The result is “Numberless Dreams” which features artists Crystal Gandrud, Steven
Corsano, Shawn Dulaney, Helen O'Leary, Helen O' Toole, and Nuala Clarke. This exhibit
will run at the Hamilton Gallery until August 31st.
Kate Mac DonaghSligo born painter Kate Mac Donagh’s work focuses on an intuitive
response to the landscape. Being from Sligo, a major influence is the landscape evoked by
the plays and poetry of W.B. Yeats. This exhibition features a series of masks - inspired by
Yeats’ ‘Dance Plays’ - heavily influenced by the Japanese Noh theatre.
