A variation of our pop-up walking tour of previous years, Vagabond Voices combines a selection of Irish and international perspectives through reading and performance over three days.

Sorcha Fox is a poet, actor, writer and facilitator. Thanks to the UNESCO New Work Award and a residency at The Dock Arts Centre, Leitrim Sorcha wrote and performed Remember, a 35 minute poetic piece with live original music for Lingo: A Spoken Word Festival, in 2016.

Sorcha has twice been the recipient of an Irish Arts Council Bursary Award. She was Theatre Artist in Residence at The Glens Centre, Manorhamilton with her project Who is Manorhamilton? and Artist in Residence at The Dock , Leitrim. Sorcha acts and storylines for Irish language soap Ros na Rún on TG4.

She wrote her first Spoken Word play; For Rachel - 2 Squirrels, as part of the Home Theatre Ireland project in Draíocht, Dublin 2018 for the Dublin Theatre Festival and wrote a play for Draíocht Youth Theatre called ‘Trust’ that was performed in Draíocht in 2019.

Sorcha is now working on a long term project with the women in recovery in Ashleigh House called ‘Amplify’ thanks to Draíocht, the Arts Council and Create Ireland.

Wasekera Sekerani is originally from Malawi and currently a student at NUI Galway. She moved to Ireland in 2015 and to Sligo in 2019. Writing has always been her passion, and a way of sharing my inner thoughts. She usually writes about personal experiences but also likes to incorporate social justice issues in poetry. Wasekera won the 2016 Irish Times 'Africa Day' writing competition, and performed in Cairde Sligo Arts Festival’s highly acclaimed 'The Bed' in 2020. “I believe poetry and art in general is transcendental and it helps us appreciate the world around us.”
