Their genre-bending, high-energy folk sound fuses traditional Irish instruments such as the bodhrán, flute and banjo, with rhythmic open-tuned guitar and poetic songwriting that draws from Irish Mythology and the land; creating a unique blend of old and new, earthy and electric. Combining the storytelling traditions of Irish folk, with the raw intensity of Rock, and a dash of world music for good measure, their live shows have been described as uplifting, powerful and in one confirmed case, transcendental!
Bog Bodies’ songs are charged from the ancient megalithic sites of Ireland and range in theme across the political, ethereal, environmental and Celtic/Pagan.
