A new musical composition by Natalia Beylis inspired by the transformational sounds of the ocean.
Having studied the Atlantic from multiple coastlines - the Irish West and the American East - Natalia is captivated by its ever-changing flow and the constant migration of creatures – real and mythical – that travel its vast expanse. This piece dwells in the submerged secret realms of the shore: in waves manifesting through winds, in the moon pulling on the water to make it breathe. Woven from field recordings gathered along Ireland’s spelled-stitched coastline and voiced through cello, fiddle, harmonium, percussion and feedback, the music becomes a kind of tidal pull – an exhale from the body as it meets the sea.
Musicians: Agathe Max, Eimear Reidy, Tara Baoth Mooney, Willie Stewart & Natalia Beylis
