Access
We strive to ensure the festival is inclusive and accessible to as many people as possible.
We do this by providing as much information as we can regarding events, how to book, how to get there and what to expect when you get there as well as providing for additional access needs at events. This is an area we will develop more each year and we welcome your feedback. For more information or feedback please contact our General Manager, Stéphanie Pawula, manager@cairdefestival.com

In the sections below, you can find out about accessibility services and venue access.
Relaxed Performances:
A relaxed performance is designed to be more inclusive and accessible for people who may need a more flexible environment. Adjustments include softer lighting and sound, minimal stage effects, and an open/flexible attitude towards audience movement and noise. These performances often include pre-show materials and quiet spaces.
At Cairde 2025 we are offering the following relaxed performances
Cairde in the Park:
We have designated an area of the park as a relaxed area. This area is placed at a distance from the family activities & games area and from the speakers to ensure accessible volume. We have a designated marquee as a chill out space which includes periodic offerings of meditation and sound bath as well as a general chill out area.
Clublandia
Capacity is restricted to ensure everybody’s comfort, enjoyment and safety. Lighting is soft and music is at accessible volume and noise cancelling headphones are available. The venue is fully accessible. This is a ticketed event – only ticket holders are permitted entry (clubbers, family, and support staff). No casual visitors are allowed in on the night and an added layer of security along with the Number 45 staff ensure that clubbers are looked after.
ISL (Irish Sign Language)
Interpretation involves a trained interpreter translating spoken words into ISL in real time. ISL interpretation ensures Deaf or hard-of-hearing attendees can fully engage with live content.
Cairde 2025 offers ISL interpretation at the following events
Guide dogs and assistance dogs
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome at all Cairde Sligo Arts Festival venues. However, certain performances—particularly those with loud music or special effects—may not be suitable for the safety and comfort of the animals. If you plan to attend with a guide or assistance dog, please let us know in advance by contacting us at info@cairdefestival.com.
Companions and Support Workers
Companions and Support Workers are entitled to a free ticket. Please contact us at info@cairdefestival.com if you require to attend with a companion.
