In this illustrated talk, Belfast-based writer Jan Carson will dissect her recent novel Few and Far Between, exploring the cultural, historical, literary and mythical influences upon the story.
With readings from the novel woven into the talk, The Anatomy of a Novel is a treat for readers curious as to where books come from and, for emerging writers, a masterclass in bringing a novel to life and ensuring it does justice to the sum of its parts. This session will include an opportunity to ask Jan any questions you might have.
Jan Carson is a Belfast-based writer and community arts facilitator. Her award-winning novels include The Fire Starters, winner of the EU Prize for Literature, and The Raptures, shortlisted for Irish Novel of the Year. Her latest novel, Few and Far Between, is a bold and magically surreal story of history, identity and redemption.
