The Breath – singer/flautist Ríoghnach Connolly (RTÉ Best Folk Singer 2025) and guitarist Stuart McCallum (The Cinematic Orchestra) – craft a contemporary blend of alt-folk with raw, heartfelt storytelling. Since forming in 2016, their music has explored themes from childhood and first love to cultural loss and post-colonial injustice. Ríoghnach’s powerful, soulful voice paired with Stuart’s understated guitar brilliance creates an intimate yet expansive sound. Their latest album, Land of My Other (2023), is a stunning collection of acoustic songs that stir and soothe in equal measure.
